The President of the ICIE Artem Chayka joins the Russia-Belarus Business Council

Moscow, 19 December 2018

The first joint meeting of the Russia- Belarus Business Council, and the Belarus- Russia Business Council (together, the Business Council) has been held, attended by representatives of the two countries’ business communities, as well as public and business organizations from both countries.

During the meeting the participants signed a Memorandum on cooperation between the national Business Councils of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, and an Agreement concerning the holding of business councils between the two countries’ Chambers of Trade and Industry was also signed.

Artem Chayka, the President of the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, addressed the meeting of the heads of the Business Council as follows:

“The International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs has always spoken up in favor of integrated processes between the business communities of different countries. We welcome the creation of the Business Councils between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus. I am confident that the creation of the Business Councils will give a new impetus to the development of mutual cooperation in the area of business and will help us engage, not in the exchange of mere platitudes, but in a constructive dialogue, in which we can talk honestly about the most challenging issues and so understand each other better, reach agreements that are of mutual benefit, and cooperate on various projects in a range of different areas.

We, on our part, also support this forum and will continue to invite new entrepreneurs to work with us, including members of the business communities represented in the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.”
