ICIE facilitates the implementation of a major project for the construction of the Trans-Korean highway

Head of the Representative Office of the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (ICIE or Congress) in the Asia-Pacific region, Evgeny Rusetsky held a meeting with representatives of the public South Korean organization “Fine City Association” and “EUNSUNG ENGINEERING” company, who visited Vladivostok on a working visit.

“Fine City Association” provides services to improve and transform the urban environment for the convenience of local residents. As part of its activities, the organization is engaged in the planning, implementation and maintenance of projects related to the reconstruction of cities, in particular, provides technology and design projects for the transformation of the urban environment.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of cooperation within the framework of the project on the construction of the Trans-Korean highway, which will connect the Republic of Korea and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and enter the Trans-Siberian Railway of the Russian Federation. In particular, the options for solving the problem of docking the railways of the Trans-Korean highway, which consist in different widths of the railroad tracks of Russia and Korea, were considered.

At the moment, the ICIE is assisting in the cooperation of Russian and South Korean engineering companies in addressing this situation, in particular by producing stations for automatically changing the width of the railway track, which should also help optimize the cost of ensuring the rolling stock from Russia to the territory of Korea, taking into account difference in the size of the track.

For the purpose of a more detailed presentation and understanding of the engineering and structural features of the rolling stock of the Russian Federation, the Korean side, with the assistance of the representative office of the ICIE, organized a familiarization visit of members of the delegation to one of the repair enterprises of Russian Railways in the Far East.

In addition, during the meeting, the head of the ICIE Representative Office in the APR and the South Korean delegation considered a project for the joint construction of a grain storage complex in Primorsky Krai, which, with the assistance of the ICIE office, was presented to the representatives of the dry grain port in the Russian Far East in Ussuriysk . The parties discussed this project, as well as options and conditions for possible cooperation in its implementation on the territory of the region.
